Daum Limited Edition Sea Eagle Pate de Verre 11 Wingspan Mint with Box

  

This is a large Daum Sea Eagle French Crystal Sculpture created using Daum's Pate de Verre lost wax process. It is a spectacular eye catching piece in translucent shades of brown and amber. The bird is taking flight and clutching a tree branch, this rare work of pate de Verre art sculpture is absolutely breathtaking. Signed Daum Fran ce and numbered #888 in a limited edition of 1000. Comes with the original form fitted foam lined Box with Certificate of Authenticity.

Dimensions: 11 inches wide by 9.25 inches tall and 9 inches deep. In excellent condition, free of chips, cracks.

Signed on base Daum France # 888/1000 In excellent condition. Flawless mint condition without a scratch, chip, smudge, bruise, or other damage. Comes with the original Daum box as photographed. Hand made in Daums Nancy France workshops by skilled artisans. Pate de Verre items are created from a paste of different colored crushed glass particles.

These are placed in a mold and then fired in a hot kiln for ten days. The glass particles fuse together forming a solid piece of crystal with color variations. Pate de Verre items are not transparent or shiny like clear crystal. The surface is rougher and there are little bubbles trapped inside. No two Daum pieces are exactly alike. Though the shape is the same, there are color variations from piece to piece. The ancient lost wax process is used. This enables Daum to execute designs that would not be possible with conventional press molds. Daums mastery of Pate de Verre has earned it a worldwide reputation for excellence. The artisans at Daum are able to capture both fine details and subtle contouring, and each glass sculpture will radiate with light and color.
