RARE - Limited Edition Goofy 65th Anniversary Stained Glass Lamp - NEW. This rare, Limited Edition stained glass lamp of Goofy was available only for a short time around Christmas of 2007 and has been in its box all these years! This piece was commissioned from famed Disney artist, Jody Daily, to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the 1942 animated film, The Olympic Champ, starring our zany friend, Goofy.

I've only opened the box to inspect the piece and photograph it. This detailed piece shows Goofy proudly holding the Olympic Torch in his hand, dressed as a Greek Olympian from the pages of history. The lamp is tall (21) and wide (13) and heavy and is likely made of high-quality, hand-painted resin.

The column that supports the lamp is adorned with classic Greco-Roman motifs, as is the beautiful shade with its red-to-yellow color gradients and inlaid metalwork. The torch in Goofys hand lights up separately from the main lamp bulb and is controlled by a four-position switch on the base that allows you to turn the lights on/off as follows. 1 Lamp lit, torch lit 2 Lamp lit, torch off 3 Lamp off, torch lit 4 Lamp off, torch off. This piece is in its original box with all original items, including the certificate of authenticity stating that it's from a limited edition of 1500.

Beneath the stained glass shade is a metal silhouette of Goofy running that can be best seen by turning on the lamp and looking at the light bulb through the part of the shade containing the silhouette. The silhouette is pretty prominent and appears on all four sides of the lamp shade. The shade is symmetric and contains a small imperfection on one of its four sides.

I almost didnt notice it when I inspected the piece because it's tiny and its in a part of the shade thats busy with other lines. If you can notice the imperfection in the shade and it bothers you, simply rotate the shade so that the imperfection is in the back.

I've photographed it; it's the most zoomed-in shot of the set, just before the photo of the Certificate of Authenticity. Yes, that tiny line that you may have missed is the imperfection. All four sides of the shade are identical, so theres no reason the imperfection should stop this gorgeous piece from being proudly displayed. All of the features I just described can be seen in the photos Ive taken of the piece. If you see any white dots in the photos (on the power cord, for example), theyre likely tiny bits of styrofoam from the packaging. This piece has never been displayed and comes from my clean, smoke-free, pet-free home. There are very few of them left out there and even fewer that are brand new, like this one, with the original box and certificate of authenticity showing that its from a limited edition of 1500.
