This lamp is back from over 25 years ago when i had my antique shop, i had an Retired English Veteran come into my shop with this lamp, that had belonged to his family since World War I, the lamps were made in a limited quantity of ONLY 100 LAMPS by Hinks & Son to a hotel in the US. I do not remember what hotel exactly. James Hinks & Son, 91-96 Great Hampton Street & 66 Hockley Street Birmingham, were established before 1865 as James Hinks and made many oil lamps and similar products. James and Joseph Hinks patented the duplex burner and the extinguisher lever in 1865.

Duplex - two flat wicks. This arrangement was originally patented by Hinks in 1865 to give double the light from a burner with efficient combustion. A good Hinks oil lamp with Hinks lock-on No1 dp burner, the lamp and burner have military arrow (crow foot) marks for use in India and colonies.

Very nice and well maintained. Item Condition: Only the 1 small hanging top bead from the blue Glass Prism brass pins has a mini chip, but it can be replaced easily. Also on picture nr 9 you can see that on top of the long blue glass on the body of the lamp, is a free space, i guess there was some glass or other part before but it is missing.
