Complete with hand signature and Original Label.... Although 114 were made it is rare to find these intact. This is a fabulous example... See pictures for condition please. 9012/114 Eva Englund Of (S is for Slip Graal & Of is for Orrefors).
This is a variation on the Graal technique. Rather than being engraved or etched, the motive is ground onto the colored piece of glass. The slip graal pieces are usually decorated with vertical lines that are ground onto the hot glass in a circular motion. This technique was also called Turbine Graal.
Early Slip Graal pieces have the letter "S" in front of their serial / date code. From 1953 onward this letter was omitted, since the pieces were clearly marked Slipgraal anywa. Eva Englund was born in Stockholm in 1937. She trained at Konstfack (college of art and design).
She briefly studied overseas and at the Capellagården ceramics workshop on Öland. Her decision to focus on glass came about after she was overwhelmed by a 1963 exhibition of the designer. Her exposure to Lundin's ethereal glass art left such an impression on her that Eva Englund decided to change her focus from ceramics to glass.
In 1964 she was appointed as successor to Göran and Ann Wärff as artistic contributor to Pukeberg Glasbruk. No chips or scratches on the Vase, however some minor scratches on the base. Condition: With regards to condition.
